- Gold Appraisal:
- Examine gold items to assess purity, weight, and overall quality.
- Utilize testing equipment, such as acid tests or electronic testers, to verify gold purity.
- Ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory guidelines during the appraisal process.
- Customer Interaction:
- Communicate with customers to explain the appraisal process and results.
- Address customer queries and provide information about loan terms and conditions related to the appraised value.
- Documentation:
- Accurately record and document appraisal details, including gold purity, weight, and any other relevant information.
- Complete necessary paperwork for loan processing, maintaining meticulous records.
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate with loan officers and other team members to facilitate smooth loan processing.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Market Knowledge:
- Stay informed about market trends and gold prices to provide accurate assessments.
- Update colleagues and management on any significant changes in the gold market.
- Security and Safety:
- Implement security measures to safeguard the appraised gold items.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or theft.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in gemology or jewelry appraisal are a plus.
- Proven experience in gold appraisal, preferably in the context of the gold loan sector.
- Familiarity with testing equipment and appraisal tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in assessing gold items.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Typically work in a secured and monitored environment.
- May involve standing for extended periods and handling various types of gold items.
