The Banquet Sales Manager is responsible for generating and maximizing revenue through the sale of banquet events, including corporate functions, weddings, parties, and other special events. This role involves client relationship management, event planning coordination, and collaboration with operational departments to ensure the successful execution of events. The ideal candidate is results-driven with strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Revenue Generation:
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities to meet and exceed sales targets. Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, event planners, wedding coordinators, and other potential clients. Prepare customized event proposals, negotiate contracts, and close sales.
Client Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from initial inquiry through event completion. Conduct site visits, walkthroughs, and tastings to showcase facilities and services. Maintain client records, including all communications, requirements, and special requests.
Event Planning and Coordination:
Collaborate with clients to determine event requirements, including layout, menu selections, audio-visual needs, and other logistical details. Coordinate with internal departments, such as Food & Beverage, Catering, and Operations, to ensure seamless execution of events. Attend events as needed to provide support, manage logistics, and address any issues that arise.
Marketing and Promotions:
Work with the marketing team to promote banquet services and special packages. Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to increase brand visibility. Keep abreast of market trends, competitors, and customer feedback to refine sales strategies.
Budgeting and Financial Management:
Prepare and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and financial reports. Track sales performance metrics, monitor expenses, and implement cost-control measures as needed. Ensure profitability of banquet sales while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Team Collaboration and Leadership:
Work closely with the Operations team to ensure proper setup, staffing, and service during events. Provide leadership to junior sales staff, including training and mentoring as needed. Facilitate communication between departments to maintain a positive client experience.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
Proven experience in banquet sales, event planning, or hospitality sales (3+ years preferred).
Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of catering and food & beverage operations is a plus.
Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
