Role Profile

Role purpose:
  • Establish and drive ITO Automation vision and execution of a strategy that leverages technologies for Infrastructure Automation like process, task automation to optimize the performance of our platforms, business, and customers
  • Delivery management of the Platform service area in terms of Budgets, Escalation Handling, SLA Management, People Management, Governance / Reporting, Stake-holder Management
  • Enforce platform & product governance structures and compliance activities to maintain regulatory compliance and enterprise standards
  • Lead teams to standardize the company\'s approach to our automation capabilities and associated processes through a shared set of definitions, techniques, and processes
  • Establish a long-term automation platform and capabilities roadmap across the IT Operation businesses and solutions landscape
  • Establish and assure adherence to budget, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
  • Regularly interact with senior management or executive levels as well as on OpCo customer side.
  • People management for the Core team - Performance review, carrier guidance, mentoring and supporting lead on effective evaluation of indirect reports, driving skip levels.
  • Provides formal and informal coaching on-the-job to grow team members to their full potential.
  • Cultivate and builds relationships across business & IT and industry to gather intelligence and bring insight about the wider enterprise picture and enable the leveraging of emerging industry standards and approaches
Key accountabilities and decision ownership
  • Develop and drive Automation vision that supports the broader organizational vision; ensure team culture consistently demonstrates alignment with leadership principles; and visibly ties decisions to leadership principles and tenets
  • Work closely with various delivery teams, clients and technology organizations to create business cases to drive Improvement & automation opportunities
  • Managing Internal and external stakeholders - Escalation and Engagement
  • Actively participate in the hiring process as well as mentor others - improving their skills, their knowledge, and their ability to get things done
  • Managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of direct & indirect and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience

Essential:
  • Minimum 15 years of IT industry experience in delivery through ideation, prototyping to product launch including at least of 8 years of technology management experience and at least 2-3 years in automation
  • Communicate complex solutions - across the company,
  • Good technical comprehension and excellent communication skills.
  • Budget management - Budget review and control 4-5 years
Experience:
  • 5-7 Years of experience working in a matrix organization
  • Proven track record of strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams across the world
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field: MBA, other related degree.
  • Leadership engagement and experience in customer engagement
  • Understanding of automation trends and future state technologies - ML, RPA, Cognitive Engines
  • Vodafone Platform tools - Citrix, Scheduling (Understanding and overview)
  • 4-5 year of experience in Agile project delivery
  • ITIL knowledge / Understanding of IT-Service Management (example ISO20000)
Key performance indicators
  • 10-15% reduction in the delivery cost of service as per agreed SLA/KPI
  • Timely Delivery of Automation Program inline to BPT initiatives
  • 100% completion of Performance management as per Vodafone guidelines
