As part of the overall RWS business strategy we are making a significant investment in upgrading our financial systems and processes to deliver enhanced reporting and control, more efficient processing enabling great value through enhanced business partnering and decision support.Job PurposeThis is a unique role that combines the responsibilities of a Shared Service Centre (SSC) Hub Lead and a Global SSC Service Manager. In this role you will be responsible for leading the operations of the Shared Service Centre (SSC) located in Bangalore, India, while ensuring excellence in service delivery and customer satisfaction globally across the wider SSC locations.As the India Hub Lead will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the India hub finance processes. You will be responsible for providing local support to functional delivery teams delivering core Finance operations processes including, but not limited to, general ledger accounting, period close and consolidation, accounts payables, cash applications, credit control and billing activities.As the SSC Service Manager your responsibilities will include monitoring and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all in-scope services against defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs), setting up and operating effective governance and escalation procedures, and managing relationships with various stakeholders including SSC leadership, functional delivery teams and process experts.In this role you will report to the Head of Global Finance Shared Services (GFSS) and work closely with the respective Global Process Owners and other global, cross-functional SSC teams to ensure optimal delivery of the processes and drive a culture of continuous improvement in the SSC.Job OverviewKey ResponsibilitiesService Management

  • Direct and manage service delivery in the SSC
  • Drive, monitor, and support service management globally by ensuring proper governance and the accurate and timely delivery of all functions as per the defined SLAs
  • Manage governance of the operating model by facilitating trust and collaboration between the shared service centre, its hubs, its customers, and key stakeholders in close collaboration with the Head of GFSS
  • Oversee, govern, and sign off agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Level Agreements (OLAs)
  • Supervise service demand, supply and capacity management for business continuity and scope expansion in close collaboration with the Head of GFSSC
  • Own governance forums with Finance Leadership, Group Finance, and other stakeholders in close collaboration with the FSSC Leadership Team
  • Support the FSSC Leadership team with Change Management activities
  • Own performance metrics framework and reporting in the SSC
  • Manage Service Catalogue of the SSC
  • Enable smooth transition of finance activities to the SSC
  • Conduct detailed transition planning and work with delivery teams to facilitate and manage Knowledge Transfer
  • Organise simulation of operations to evaluate people, processes, and technology before go-live
  • Work with delivery teams to ramp up volumes and stabilise operations
  • Direct period close and consolidation for India Hub
  • Oversee the region\xe2\x80\x99s period end close and consolidation process and ensure all activities for period end closes are completed in a timely and accurate manner in line with the agreed period end timeline
  • Report on performance to company\xe2\x80\x99s group function
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to resolve operational requests
  • Align with delivery teams to set up a framework to log requests for the SSC
  • Establish a set of rules to classify requests and route them to the correct resolution path
  • Support governance forums to resolve queries with higher complexity
  • Partnership with local Site support teams, particularly Site Lead, HRBP and IT support
  • Liaise with stakeholders across the business to ensure requirements are met, for example, to oversee that requests from Business Partners are actioned by the SSC hub in a timely and accurate manner
  • Collaborate with Group Finance to share inputs on the design of policies and ensure proper implementation of policies
SSC Regional Hub Leadership
  • Provide leadership to SSC India Hub team members
  • Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of SSC hub operations, delivering services regionally
  • Provide support and oversight to teams in the Bangalore Hub executing finance activities across in-scope processes including, but not limited to, general ledger accounting, accounts payables, payments, accounts receivables, collections, and billing, whilst these teams report to Functional Delivery Leads in other hub/location
  • Oversee team\xe2\x80\x99s required training to ensure adherence to company compliance policies and procedures
  • Ensure India Hub team compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all national and/or regional laws and regulations associated with duties and responsibilities by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed by SSC hub team performing tasks during and outside period end close
  • Ensure all process controls are adhered to and documented appropriately
  • Support implementation of risk management process and associated controls in line with company policies
  • Respond to requests from regulatory authorities and auditors
  • People management of the SSC Hub team
  • Develop/mentor team; provide advice, counselling, soft skills guidance; interpersonal, interaction skills; promote a diverse and inclusive work environment
  • Foster adoption of the company culture and values and mindset shift to one SSC team
Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of general management service delivery experience in SSC operations (multifunctional preferable), with a track record of managing and transforming large teams
  • Strong English language skills
  • Working knowledge of core finance systems, ERP and related specialty functional systems, frameworks, and functionality
  • Strong understanding of finance business processes, accounting policies, and statutory accounting principles to ensure compliant shared services operations
  • Proven ability to effectively navigate across functional disciplines and resolve conflicts as necessary
  • Strong understanding of metrics and SLAs and the factors that influence them
  • Demonstrate logical thought process to simplify complex issues and technical concepts, and to facilitate issue resolution
  • Experience in dealing with multicultural and multifunctional teams
  • Ability to interact with customers/stakeholders to ensure a high quality of service, while balancing expectations and realisations
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with a proactive approach, accustomed to working towards tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality of work
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to lead by example, hold teams, customers, and partners to account
Beneficial to have:
  • Qualified accountant (AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA or global equivalent) or qualified by experience
  • Experience with MS Dynamics
  • Conversant in other languages besides English, especially Hub site local language
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other business-related discipline
