Global Process Owner Transport Management - AP Process Excellence | BASF Agricultural Solutions

To further develop and grow this ambition we are looking for a Global Business Process Owner Transport Management.
Your job
We are in search of a dynamic and strategic Global Process Owner (GPO) for Transport Management to lead and optimize our global transportation and logistics activities within our dedicated Process Excellence Team (PET). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and supply chain operations, combined with exceptional leadership, communication, and process optimization skills. As the GPO for Transport Management, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods across our global supply chain.
Key responsibilities

  • Process Ownership: Assume complete ownership of the Transport Management process, overseeing all aspects of transportation planning, execution, monitoring, and optimization. Ensure alignment with organizational objectives and customer service levels.
  • Global Standardization: Collaborate with global and regional teams and stakeholders to establish and enforce global transportation standard operating procedures and best practices. Drive consistency in transportation processes and strategies across different regions.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously assess the Transport Management process to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and sustainability enhancements. Lead initiatives to streamline operations, reduce lead times, and enhance service quality.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement robust risk mitigation strategies related to transportation, including compliance with international trade regulations, customs, and environmental standards. Ensure adherence to safety and security protocols.
  • Technology Integration: Partner with IT teams to leverage transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant technology solutions to optimize transportation processes. Drive digital transformation initiatives to improve visibility, efficiency, and decision-making.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the Transport Management process. Regularly report performance insights to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Procurement, and IT, to align transportation strategies with broader business goals. Act as the primary point of contact for transportation-related matters.
  • Environmental Sustainability: Champion sustainability initiatives within the transportation process, promoting eco-friendly transportation methods, reducing carbon emissions, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Talent Development: Mentor and guide a team of transportation analysts and experts within the Process Excellence Community (PEC). Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts associated with process improvements and technology implementations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless adoption of new processes and tools.
  • Main interface to GB and GD Process Owner community: Be the main contact person for all the existing process owners of GB and GD to ensure that AP specific process requirements and needs are fulfilled.

Your team
In this challenging position you will give coaching and guidance to a global community of regional and local Process Experts team. You will report to our \xe2\x80\x98Process Excellence Team Lead\xe2\x80\x99 and act as the right hand and sparring partner of Global and Regional Leadership in AP.
Your Profile Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master\'s degree or industry certifications (e.g., CSCP, PMP) is advantageous.
  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation and logistics, with a focus on managing global transportation operations and processes.
  • Experience working in Agriculture is a plus.

  • Process Excellence: Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives, implementing best practices, and optimizing financial processes for global organizations.
  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven and detail-oriented approach to decision-making.
  • Change Agent: Demonstrated experience in driving change management efforts and managing stakeholders across various organizational levels.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), logistics platforms, and supply chain analytics. Ability to leverage technology for process enhancements.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Global Mindset: Understanding of global supply chain operations, international trade regulations, and cultural nuances.
  • Sustainability Focus: A commitment to advancing environmental sustainability within the transportation process.
