Introduction As the research and analysis division of The Economist Group (TEG), EIU helps leaders prepare for opportunity, empowering them to act with confidence when making strategic decisions. EIU is the global standard in providing quality, actionable intelligence to the public and private sector, assessing issues that impact the marketplace for over two hundred countries. The Country Analysis division of EIU is seeking to recruit an Analyst to join its Global Forecasting team. We are looking for someone with an understanding and interest in global macroeconomics, proven ability in data analysis and visualisation, and good communication skills. The Global Analyst will support our coverage of key global economic and policy themes, helping to drive differentiated insight through a mixture of quantitative and qualitative outputs that feature in global research notes, reports and other client deliverables. They will join a team of analysts working on global issues (including commodities and regulation) as well as the US and Canada. The role can be based in either of TEG\'s India offices (Gurugram and Mumbai). Accountabilities Produce and contribute to high-quality forecasts and analysis: Contribute to and produce data- and graphic-rich research notes, analysis and PPTs that identify important trends and developments in global economics and policy, and highlight implications for EIU clients Support the development of EIU\'s global outlook, including through assisting with change and innovation in content, forecasts and delivery Assist with coverage of global regulation and commodities, as well as the US and Canada, if required Show a strong sense of editorial judgement and ensure adherence to editorial guidelines, including independence, objectivity and quality Manage external contributors: Assist with finding and commissioning suitable external contributors to provide written and data analysis on global economics and policy Build a network of sources in academia, business and government to draw on for research purposes Contribute to the team: Play an active role in team discussions on global and regional themes Provide feedback to others on their work and show an ability to critically evaluate their forecasts Support other members of the team when they need it Support promotion of views externally: Support engagement with clients and prospects through participating in meetings Work collaboratively with EIU sales colleagues to support new business development Share views with media bodies such as television, radio or newspapers on behalf of the EIU Experience, skills and professional attributes The ideal skills for this role are: Knowledge and interest in global macroeconomics and key policy themes Relevant degree in economics, political science or related subject. Ideally a Masters degree (or equivalent) Knowledge of economic forecasting and experience in developing and analysing large datasets Experience in data visualisation and advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills Fluent written and oral communication skills in English The ability to juggle different tasks effectively A knack for placing clients first and maintaining a commercial focus You will be able to demonstrate: Knowledge on key global economic and policy issues Strong quantitative skills and the ability to apply them to deliver insight Attention to detail and ability to ensure consistent high quality products and services Budgeted Minimum Compensation Budgeted Maximum Compensation
