• Plan for resources based on production plan.
• Conduct germination & vigour test as per SOP.
• Analyse the test data & reporting.
• Report the relevant testing KPIxe2x80x99s as per the set targets.
• Review SOPxe2x80x99s related to germination & vigour periodically.
• Stakeholder communication.
• Effectively collaborate with global test development teams to ensure efficient and effective implementation of new test methods in germination & vigour.
• To identify the training needs of the team including 3rd party staff (NFTE) and arrange appropriate training. Ensure succession plan & team development
• Support/ Lead Project related germination/ vigour/UP.
• Develop & Implement technology/automation solutions.
• Support customer complaints from QC perspective.
• Manage ISTA Proficient Test/ Inter Laboratory Management programs
• Keep the track of all the relevant documents

Key Responsibilities of the role:

• Managing overall lab operations of seed germination, vigour & deliver the set KPIxe2x80x99s as per the target
• Adhering to the compliance all the time
• Manage the budget (Opex and Capex) and resources as per the production plan
• Upgrade and implementation of testing protocols.
• Monitoring & maintaining the test environment
• Responsible for enforcing and regulating health and safety in workplaces.
• Other duties as assigned

Accountabilities

• Ensure germination & vigour test as per lead time
• Accountable for consistency in results & reporting
• Ensure internal checks & controls

QualificationsQualification:

• M.Sc. in Agriculture, Specialized in Seed Science & Technology
• Minimum 4 years of experience in relevant field
• Experience in NABL/ ISTA accreditation will be an added advantage

Critical Knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of seed sampling, physical purity, moisture testing, germination testing, vigour testing, genetic purity, grow out test. Indian minimum seed certification standards.
• Good understanding of seed physiology.
• Knowledge of ISTA rules of seed testing.
• Basic understanding of seed Production, seed processing, seed drying, seed treatment and seed storage.
• Computer skills (Excel, word, Power point etc.)
• Basic knowledge of SAP
• Good communication, critical thinking & people management.

Critical Experience:

• Experience in seed testing, Germination & vigour test
• Experience in data analysis
• Experience in reporting
• Reporting KPIxe2x80x99s
• Experience of getting along well with others including internal & external stake holders & customers
