Job Description


Job Overview: The Employee Relations General Manager or AVP is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and programs to foster positive relationships between employees and the organization. They play a critical role in addressing workplace issues, maintaining compliance with labor laws, and promoting a healthy work culture.

1. Policy Development and Compliance:

- Develop and update company policies and procedures related to employee relations, ensuring they are in compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.

- Advise and guide HR and management teams on policy interpretation and application.

2. Conflict Resolution:

- Manage and resolve employee disputes, conflicts, and grievances in a fair and consistent manner.

- Mediate conflicts between employees or between employees and management

3. Employee Communication:

- Develop communication strategies to keep employees informed about company policies, procedures, and changes.

- Facilitate open and transparent communication channels between employees and management.

4. Employee Engagement:

- Create and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.

5. Performance Management:

- Oversee the performance management process, including performance appraisals, coaching, and feedback.

- Assist in addressing performance issues and recommending corrective actions.

- Conduct surveys and feedback sessions to assess employee morale and gather insights for improvement.

6. Training and Development:

- Identify training needs related to employee relations and collaborate with the HR training team to design and deliver relevant programs.

- Promote diversity and inclusion initiatives and ensure they are integrated into training efforts.

7. Legal Compliance:

- Stay updated on labor laws, regulations, and employment trends to ensure the organization\'s compliance.

- Handle investigations related to allegations of discrimination, harassment, or other misconduct.

8. Employee Records and Documentation:

- Maintain accurate and confidential records related to employee relations matters.

- Prepare reports and documentation for legal or regulatory purposes.

9. HR Policy Advocacy:

- Advocate for fair and equitable HR policies and practices within the organization.

- Collaborate with HR leadership to align employee relations efforts with broader HR goals and strategies.

10. Team Leadership:

- Supervise and mentor a team of employee relations specialists or HR professionals spread across India.

- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master\'s degree preferred).

- Extensive experience (typically 10-15 years or more) in HR, with a focus on employee relations.

- Strong communication, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.

- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership abilities.

- Demonstrated experience in managing HR teams and complex employee relations issues.

- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is often preferred.
