Position Summary: The General Manager - Fabrication and Machine Shop will be responsible for the strategic oversight and operational management of the fabrication and machine shop units at Faridabad. This role demands extensive experience in the medium-heavy equipment manufacturing space, with a focus on fabrication, machining, and welding processes. A solid commitment to achieving manufacturing excellence, efficiency, and safety is vital for this position. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fabrication and machine shop, ensuring optimal utilization of resources. Technical Expertise: Leverage extensive technical understanding in metal fabrication, machining, and welding processes to optimize manufacturing outcomes. ERP & Software Compliance: Lead the implementation and compliance of ERP systems and other shop floor management software within the departments. Capacity Planning & Efficiency: Develop and manage capacity plans to align with demand forecasts and business objectives. Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Management Systems (QMS) departments to ensure the highest quality and safety standards. Team Management: Lead, develop, and mentor a team of engineers, machinists, and shop floor personnel for effective and efficient operations. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, and Quality departments to meet customer requirements and maintain inventory levels. Continuous Improvement: Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives aimed at process improvements and cost optimization. Qualifications : Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum of 15 years of experience in medium to heavy manufacturing industries, with a focus on fabrication and machining processes. At least 5 years in a managerial role overseeing fabrication and machine shop operations. Proven track record of successfully implementing operational excellence strategies. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Lean/Six Sigma is preferred. Ability and willingness to travel to various company facilities and client sites, as required.
