A GDC tool designer's responsibilities include:
• Designing jigs and fixtures Creating preliminary designs, layouts, and detailed drawings for process tools, fixtures, and jigs
• Visualizing operations Working from drawings, sketches, planning sheets, and other engineering and shop data, tool designers visualize all operations to be performed
• Preparing work design Preparing a work design from which they or others under their direction make detailed production drawings
