Job Description

The Cloud Architect will work within an agile team of Engineers and Operations personnel building highly


resilient, scalable and performant GCP infrastructure in an automated and efficient manner.


Role holder will work alongside the Application DevOps teams and cross-functional IT teams and will be


required to use their initiative to innovate to achieve maximum performance and be prepared to investigate


and use new products/services offered by GCP.


Ensure good Change management practice is implemented as specified by central standards.


Provide impact assessments for changes proposed on HSBC GCP core platform


Design scalable, secure, and resilient solutions utilizing cloud technologies (private/hybrid/public)


Define and maintain architecture and technology roadmaps for cloud services


Provide architectural leadership for cloud services across Data Management service lines


Provide detailed design guidance to engineering teams


Work with the wider HSBC organization to drive Data Management specific priorities for cloud


adoption


Ability to create clear, concise proposals for solutions and brokering agreement across multiple


stakeholders. Strong experience of working with stakeholders across multiple disciplines; business


analysts, product owners, testing teams and wider technical stakeholders


Define and sell a vision, but with the ability to deliver incrementally and provide immediate value to


the stakeholders


Ability to convert requirements into actionable architectural artefacts


Ability to understand and further explain complex technical concepts In-depth knowledge on GCP and related Cloud technologies.


Should be able to handle end to end cloud migration project.


Experience in advanced technical documentation


In depth knowledge on GCP Cloud security aspects.


Knowledge in DevOps methodologies Cloud security architecture experience in any AWS/Azure.


Ability to produce hardened configuration standards for cloud services


Threat modelling experience and understanding of software vulnerabilities and vulnerability


remediation


Experience working with CSP managed container services such as AWS EKS, GCP GKE, Cloud Run, ECS


Fargate.


Experience with Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, Dockerfiles, Terraform or Ansible.


Excellent command of operations risk management processes, principles, architectural


requirements, engineering threats and vulnerabilities, including incident response methodologie About Virtusa
