Job Description


Uber seeks a GBS Operations Manager to be part of the GBS leadership under the CAO Org. This position will be located in Hyderabad/Bangalore,India and will support development of the overall GBS program spanning strategy, leading implementation of robust transaction policies, processes and tools. You will work closely with the teams in Finance Org to enhance processes within Finance Operations & Sourcing (PTP, OTC, RTR, Sourcing, Tax etc), partner with global process owners to streamline policies and procedures and create the right metrics to track SLA\'s & KPI\'s. Work with outsourced partners to drive seamless delivery, drive transformation/generate value and adhere to governance. This position would report to the GBS Operations Lead also located in Bangalore/ Hyderabad.What You\'ll DoDrive Operational Excellence

  • Responsible for the service delivery of outsourced scope (financial processes including P2P, OTC, RTR ) across Global delivery centers
  • Manage Service Level Agreements and create remediation plans
  • Acts as a GBS owner and develops a robust program strategy to drive compliance and efficiency at Uber
  • Proactively seeks new opportunities to add value, through a deep understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payments processing
  • Develops and mentors staff through open communication, training and development opportunities. Keeps employee motivation ensuring that the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies
Contract Management & Negotiation
  • Value Maximization: Effective negotiations enabling parties to secure the best possible terms, ensuring that they get maximum value from the deal. This includes favorable pricing, quality of services, and payment terms.Cost
  • Efficiency: By negotiating favorable terms, achieve cost savings and efficiencies. This might include identifying bulk discounts, extended payment terms, or performance incentives to align with cost objectives
Performance Metrics and Reporting
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and efficiency of GBS financial processes.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Establishes performance reporting and procedures for functional teams
  • Identify and implement GBS best practices in processes and optimize utilization of the GBS teams
Compliance and Risk Management
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective risk management strategies.
  • Ensure that financial processes and activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and company policies.
  • Identify process controls and governance risks. Develop and implement strategies to reduce and mitigate risks associated with processes and systems
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with finance leaders, business partners, and key stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure alignment with GBS objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful collaboration and achievement of financial goals.
  • Partner with other finance roles and business leaders, to evaluate finance performance
Technology Integration
  • Evaluate and implement financial technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of GBS financial processes.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies that can positively impact finance operations.
OthersAd hoc activities as needed like review vendor billing, evaluate key decisions and investments, contribute in GBS workshops, and participate in seminars or conferences.What You\'ll Need
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience (+8 years) in financial management, with a focus on process optimization and contract management
  • Strong understanding of global financial regulations, compliance, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in contract management, proven record in driving cost efficiencies.
  • Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment and ability to empower teams around you
  • Experience in implementing financial technologies and automation solutions.
  • Experience with complex decision making and problem solving using Lean / Six Sigma techniques
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a global, cross-functional environment.
