DHL Express is looking for a Gateway Security Assistant to lead and join our team. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the airside entry of the regulated agent facility is controlled and sterility of the sterile cargo holding area is ensured.

Key Responsibilities
He/she will have to perform the following key activities:
• Ensure proper access control of the facility with regard to men and material.
• Prevent & Report all incidents which affect the health and safety of staff or which have the potential to disrupt the business of DHL Express.
• Ensure fire exits are free of obstructs at all times.
• Undertake daily safety checks as required.
• Record details of all equipment and tools taken into DHL premises.
• Ensure all staff display their AEP / ID conspicuously.
• Ensure proper frisking / body search of all staff entering in or comes out.
• Maintain daily log sheet of all activities.
• Ensure all access gates are locked at all times and opened only under proper authorisation.
• Assist in the process of evacuation in case of any emergency contingency arises.
• Ensure no theft, pilferage, damage, intentional / Unintentional disruptive activity takes place.
• Ensure no activity takes place which is capable to cause unlawful interference in Civil Aviation Activities and also ensure no act of commission or omission amounts to any act unlawful interference in civil aviation activities.
• Ensure no electrical / electronic items are carried in the sterile area unless declared and permitted.
• Ensure sterility of the sterile cargo holding area is maintained at all cost.
• Ensure no photography is permitted without proper permission / authorisation.
• Coordinates investigations carried out locally by country or aviation resources.
• Provide support, guidance and expertise to the investigation process and the follow-up.
• Conducts investigations into security incidents e.g. loss/theft of shipments, company assets, and criminal acts against property or personnel.
• Assist the Security Manager in the delivery of the SAFE training programme.
• Assist and guide local and regional management in the handling of often complex legal, personnel and procedural issues and minimize DHL's exposure to liability in any civil or criminal actions that may result from the incidents investigated.
• Apply analytical processes to gauge losses, estimate the probability of recurrence, the financial impact and, most importantly take a pro-active counter measures.
• Produce monthly reports of incidents and the subsequent investigations to country and regional management.
• Comply with company policy, civil laws and national Labor Relations Rulings when conducting investigations to ensure the company is not exposed to criminal or civil charges.
• Close cooperation with DHL Country Security Managers or appointees in conducting investigations.
• Incumbent has no direct reports and authority over country line and functional personnel.
• He/she will have influence to enable improvement and change within the organization.

o Explosives Detectors.
Each security person shall, before being deployed for duty by the airline operators / their authorized agents, successfully complete an approved training concerning aviation security as prescribed by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security from time to time.

Qualification for Security personnel:
• Age: must be 18 years and above.
• Education Qualification : Minimum Graduate or equivalent
• Citizenship : must be a Indian Citizen
• Health :
o All security personnel must be in a Good mental and physical state of health, consistent with the ability to perform the security tasks. Substance abuse (including alcohol) shall be a cause for rejection
o Certification of health shall be obtained from a Registered Medical practitioner in India.
• Visual accuracy - Eye sight shall be equal or better than 20/60 in both eyes without glasses / lenses or equal or better that 20 / 20 in one eye and 20 / 30 in the other when using glasses or contact lenses. Adequate colour perception shall be required.
• Hearing - Hearing loss in each ear should be less than 30 dB when tested by audio graph for frequencies below 2000 Hz.
• Speech - There shall be clear ability to communicate orally efficiently and effectively. Movement-of-crisis communication necessitates that screening personnel be free from any pronounced speed impediment.
• Sense of smell - Security personnel shall have the ability to sense odour.
• Acceptable without experience subject to successful completion of the prescribed training programme after employment.
• Degree from a recognised university or equivalent.
