The BARX Web UI developer role plays a critical part in the migration of applications within the BARX Platform to web and will be working with colleagues globally. . The BARX Web UI team is responsible for developing and testing trading and analytics applications on our platform in line with business requirements from FX Trading and Sales globally. . This role is required to enhance the platform as part of a series of ambitious strategic growth initiatives for the FX business on the BARX platform. This is a part of a significant re-platforming effort to migrate from a desktop fat client platform to new HTML5 based front ends using leading edge desktop containers. What will you be doing . Work closely with Front Office Traders to understand new Trading requirements, provide demo\'s of ongoing deliverables for feedback during the product development lifecycle. . Work closely with Sales and Traders to understand new Client requirements, and provide the ability to develop and deliver those solutions. . Work closely with BAs and PMs, technical leads, Quality Assurance testers and Quantitative Developers, to design, develop and deliver solutions. . Document new requirements in JIRA and progress them as deliverables within the team. . Proactively participate in the wider BARX FX technical community on strategic platform enhancement initiatives, becoming an active participant in technical discussion meetings across multiple projects in the wider team as part of regular ongoing technical forums. What we\'re looking for: Personal attributes essential to performing role including competencies, expertise, knowledge, and experience Skills that will help you in the role: . Excellent Knowledge of HTML5/ JavaScript / CSS / SASS - particularly React/Redux. . Experience in working with HTML5 desktop containers e.g. Electron, OpenFin . Experience in UX design & prototyping. . Experience designing and developing REST APIs. . Experience of JavaScript unit testing practices. . Strong knowledge of standard development and build tools, e.g. GIT, TeamCity etc. . Experience in Java programming. . Knowledge of Spring & Spring Boot. . Experience of working with a micro service distributed architecture, cloud infrastructure and principles. . Experience working with application containers e.g. Docker. . Investment banking experience, ideally working on a front office trading application. . A team player who takes initiative and can influence the development of the system. . Preferred Qualifications o Excellent academic record with a numerate degree (2:1 or higher) - e.g. computer science, maths, physics, engineering. o Full-lifecycle development of at least 1 large commercial system, with ideal candidate focusing on significant development of high-frequency trading or pricing systems in the Options space.
