Job Description

Responsibilities:

1. Conceptualization: Generate innovative and original furniture design concepts that align with market trends, user needs, and brand identity.

2. Sketching and Rendering: Create detailed sketches, drawings, and 3D renderings to communicate design ideas and concepts effectively.

3. Materials and Manufacturing Knowledge: Stay abreast of the latest materials, manufacturing techniques, and trends in the furniture industry. Use this knowledge to make informed design decisions.

4. Prototype Development: Work closely with prototyping teams to develop and refine furniture prototypes, ensuring they meet design specifications and functional requirements.

5. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, manufacturers, and marketing professionals, to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and marketable.

6. Testing and Iteration: Conduct testing and gather feedback on prototypes to identify areas for improvement. Iterate designs based on feedback and testing results.

7. Documentation: Prepare detailed design documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and material lists, to facilitate the manufacturing process.

8. Trend Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market demands, and competitor products to inform design decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.

2. Proven experience as a Furniture Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of designs.

3. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.

4. Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and woodworking techniques.

5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

6. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

7. Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

8. Knowledge of sustainability practices in furniture design is a plus.
