Summary

Applies business requirements and knowledge of testing and software development lifecycles to design, produce and guide the testing of complex software products or customer solutions.

Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
- Contributes to and develops high-quality software testing design principles and architecture.
- Provides the technical leadership as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the domain by showing a significant depth of knowledge and expertise in software testing.
- Identifies, prioritises and executes tasks in the software testing and development life cycle.
- Designs, develops and delivers software testing solutions that align with architecture, operational and risk processes.
- Works closely with the Research, Product, Delivery and Sales teams to deliver testing for the products, services, enhancements and solutions to meet customer needs and align with the goals of the business line.
- Develops efficient testing code and solution using advanced tools and applications.
- Leads the delivery of important testing projects, working autonomously and with little direction; may ensure the delivery of work from other team members, delegating work when required.
- Builds trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, growing own network and collaborating with other teams. Communicates complex / technical information clearly and concisely in an audience-appropriate format.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
- ISTQB Specialist/Expert Level or equivalent
- Exhibits advanced architecture knowledge in Test Automation, Performance or Process
- Exhibits in-depth technical experience in the entire software development life cycle and multiple programming languages, third-party testing tools and multi-tiered applications
- Exhibits in-depth experience in implementing and driving technical solutions across projects.

Key Functions and Responsibilities

As an Engineering/Technical Lead in Benchmarking and Indices Division in Data & Analytics, the individual will be responsible for developing and supporting delivery of varied initiatives that address key Equities Index Operational Risk concerns. The candidate will be required to provide technical expertise, ownership, and responsibilities in end-to-end IT project delivery.

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform the role of Senior most developer in the team with ability to provide innovative solutions to challenging business problems
  • Have a solid grasp on project and delivery timelines and plan the development releases accordingly
  • Design, Code, Debug, Test and Perform Code Reviews
  • Works closely with Index Business, Architecture, and other peers of the technology & business organizations
  • Implements new / improved software development processes and best practices, as required by group or departmental Heads
  • Manages the performance and development of a team of developers
  • Ensures the developer community has the technical skills required to deliver against long-term plans.
Miniumum Requirements
  • 8-10+ years hands-on experience in technology development with a strong expertise in technical engineering of varied data driven projects
  • This is a hands-on role
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Thorough knowledge of developing applications on Java, Python and Angular
  • Solid experience of Rule engines ex Drools, Easy Rules is greatly advantageous
  • Expert experience of micro services development through Spring Boot
  • Strong understanding of Relational Databases \xe2\x80\x93 Postgres Aurora / RDS, SQL Server
  • Good experience of working on cloud technologies and services on AWS
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Significant experience in software development methodologies and Agile based delivery
