BUK & BX - All locations We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Introduction: Ownership of and responsibility for the development and continuous improvement of telemetry within the Physical Security Technology space. Working with the Head of Build Engineering looking at the PSTech strategy. Engineering, Architecture, Data analytics, Vulnerability management and Resilience will be part of the landscape. They will be required to engage and have a close relationship with CSO Engineering, BTB, RTB and GTIS, in order to provide a world-class security operation experience, underpinned by a lean cost base, strong controls and a culture of collaboration, innovation and high performance integration. Main responsibilities for this role include: . Taking ownership of the Physical Security Technology Build and Engineering of all Telemetry against each product line using Barclays tooling. (eSaaS, App Dynamics, Service First) . To help define the Build and Engineering strategy, roadmaps and engineering vision for current and new security capabilities, consistent with wider Barclays Group standards. Use enterprise engineering techniques, focusing on business outcomes, in conjunction with respective CTO and CSO engineering along with RTB/BTB and business stakeholders, to translate strategic business and technological goals. . To write code to specification for one or more applications / products . To test the code thoroughly, create test scripts and liaise with users to ensure delivery is fit for purpose. . To maintain a technical understanding of a component or sub-component within an application / product, providing support for technical queries, live incidents and problems. . To ensure the technical integrity and quality of the applications / product maintained across its lifetime, contributing to the development of any technical changes proposed. . The ability to deliver a single complex project, or multiple standard projects, as a team member. . Investigate specific technologies, conduct technical briefings and recommend next steps to leadership all levels and colleagues as appropriate. Research relevant technologies and demonstrate their benefits by developing POCs where necessary along with Pen Testing new products and defining engineering patterns. . Lead analysis of the current landscape to detect critical build or engineering deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Build and support the implementation of resilient, scalable solutions for the domain area. . Ensure necessary processes and controls are designed to comply with group infrastructure and engineering policies / standards to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. . Maintain knowledge of relevant technologies at the core/internals levels in order to act competently in this advanced engineering Subject Matter Expert role. What will you be doing Main accountabilities for this role include: . To develop solutions using industry best practice techniques that align to the latest security and accessibility guidelines. . To contribute to the creation, assessment and validation of requirements. . To monitor and manage quality at every phase of software development and service lifecycle. . End to End Management and responsibility of all tools used from design to production. . To build a value adding knowledge base of technical strategies and business solutions against PSTech Product lines. . Responsible for driving Continuous Improvement and security enhancements in the Physical Security build domain, ensuring industry best practice where applicable and proactively improving engineering practices and standards. . Maintain knowledge of relevant technologies at the core/internals levels in order to act competently in Subject Matter Expert role. Articulate and establish best practices and anti-patterns in application of technologies in question. . Maintain and track technical debt as a result of any changes to target state solutions to accommodate project ensuring all systems are running on compliant infrastructure and build along with budget if not. What we\'re looking for: . Working to Agile methodology and Automation with toolsets such as (or similar). . Excel/Tableau knowledge . eSaaS/AppDynamics/ITRS/ThousandEyes knowledge . Windows/Unix/Database expertise . Technical knowledge of coding and monitoring tools . Experience in coding to build and maintain each product lines telemetry and ability to improve it and make suggestions on its innovation. . Experience managing senior stakeholders, external vendors and other internal team resources. Skills that will help you in the role : . Proven experience in a Technology Infrastructure Build and Engineering role at an Enterprise level. . Experience working across multiple time zones, dealing with vendors and teams in different regions on engineering and build projects. . Knowledge of Physical Security infrastructure and experience with technical implementations at an Enterprise level advantageous. . Knowledge of other Physical Security products / service offerings including server builds of Cloud environments and IOT device security standards. . Working to the Agile methodology and tools including JIRA, Confluence (or similar).
