Job Purpose

Monitor, maintain and control inventory of materials as per the requirements and disposal of surplus/obsolete inventory while ensuring timely availability of specific material at desired unit for smooth functioning of the plant
To ensure availability of Engineering Materials to plant at right time, right quality by maintaining optimum inventory for smooth operation of the plant.

Chemicals Business of Aditya Birla Group produces Chlor-Alkali products among other Chemicals through seven units situated in different parts of the country. Eighth unit is under project phase. ABG is largest producer of Chlor Alkali in India with a market share of approx. 26%.

One of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities is based at Vilayat having the capacity to produce 1000 TPD of Caustic. The Unit also produces Chlorine derivates namely Chlorinated Paraffins (CP), Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC powder & liquid), Stable Bleaching Powder (SBP), Phosphoric Acid (PA), Aluminum Chloride (ALCP), SCO & CBGP.

The unit, located in the chemical hub of South Gujarat at Vilayat, is poised for an ambitious growth.

Major Challenges:
\xc3\xa2\xe2\x82\xac\xc2\xa2 To maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.
\xc3\xa2\xe2\x82\xac\xc2\xa2 To establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory. This includes the taking and valuing of the year-end physical inventory.
\xc3\xa2\xe2\x82\xac\xc2\xa2 To Confers with requesting parties when specific sources are requested. Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages, however caused.
\xc3\xa2\xe2\x82\xac\xc2\xa2 To establishes and maintains purchasing practices and policies to ensure honest, fair, and ethical relationships with vendors. Keeps informed on legal matters that affect purchasing policies.

KRA1
1. Inventory management: Implement the system of inventory control to ensure smooth functioning of the plant
1. Provide input wherever required in formulation of Stores system and ensure implementation of agreed upon material system and operating process
2. Follow up and make dispatches to the plant
3. Make available all materials as per the agreed upon inventory level to ensure uninterrupted operation of the plant.
4. Monitoring of daily material receipt and issue and their timely entry in system
5. Timely unload/load Stores material with the available resources
6. Reduce breakage of material as handled by transporters & contractors
7. Carry out physical stock verification of inventory items periodically
8. Physically check inventory before issuing the material physically
9. Assist in Preparing the yearly/quarterly/monthly plan for ensuring the optimum level of inventory in plant


KRA2
1. Scrap/Surplus/Obsolete material management: Carry out collection, storage and disposal of scrap/obsolete/surplus material in the plant
1. Sort out obsolete inventory items with coordination of user department
2. Collect and segregate scrap, surplus and obsolete materials from the different locations in the plant
3. Organize & conclude all activities relating to disposal of old furniture & fixtures, scrap etc. with the vendors

3. System Management (Safety, Sustainability & WCM):
Adhere to safety & statutory environmental requirements
1. Strictly adhere to safety norms & safe operational procedures
2. Strictly adhere to OHSAS & SA 8000 norms
3. Implement IMS, WCM and sustainability practices
4. Handle emergency situations like Liquid Chlorine leakages etc. under Disaster Management activities
5. Train the team to comply with these norms
6. Maintain process systems having zero effluent and zero accident

Qualifications:

DXPF3.Bachelor of Engineering
Minimum Experience Level:
4-8 Years
