Job Description


:Job PurposeTo arrange and ensure optimum utilization of contractor workforce while also ensuring compliance of Contract Labour Act and Factory Act. To execute responsibilities of supervising Factory House Keeping services to be delivered as per SLA. To ensure compliance to Factory Act (Statutory Returns wrt. Factories Act)Job Context & Major ChallengesChemicals Business of Aditya Birla Group produces Chlor-Alkali products among other Chemicals through seven units situated in different parts of the country. Eighth unit is under project phase. ABG is largest producer of Chlor Alkali in India with a market share of approx. 26%.
One of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities is based at Vilayat having the capacity to produce 1000 TPD of Caustic. The Unit also produces Chlorine derivates namely Chlorinated Paraffins (CP), Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC powder & liquid), Stable Bleaching Powder (SBP), Phosphoric Acid (PA), Aluminum Chloride (ALCP), SCO & CBGP.
The unit, located in the chemical hub of South Gujarat at Vilayat, is poised for an ambitious growth.
Major Challenges:

  • Optimization of old Contract Labour Workforce Nos.
  • Education & communication with new contractors for ensuring implementation & continuance of robust CW management
  • Maintaining peaceful industrial relations scenario with reference to contract workforce.
  • Statutory compliances pertaining to Factories Act and Contract Labor Act.
  • Management and resolution of legacy issues in contract workforce
Key Result Areas KRA (Accountabilities) (Max 1325 Characters) Supporting Actions (Max 1325 Characters)
KRA1 Welfare and Discipline To execute responsibilities of a designated Welfare officer as per statutory requirements.
  • Enforcing discipline among the contract workers and especially contract workers regarding Dress code, Helmet wearing and adherence of safe practices.
  • To persuade contract workers for avoiding use of alchohol, tobacco products in the plant premises during duty hours.
  • Having regular dialogue with all stakeholders and resolving their issues on daily basis.
  • Liasioning with concern authorities to maintain cordial relationships and safeguard company interests
  • Training to contract workmen on \xe2\x80\x985\xe2\x80\x99 S (WCM)
KRA2 Cost Control Assist the SH in monitoring and controlling overtime of workmen
  • Monitor actual expenditure with budget
  • Monitor attendance
KRA3 Social Securities Issuance/Re-issuance of ID card to al Contract workmen being deployed basis due diligence wrt Age ,Medical certificate, Police verification ESIC & PF Code, Bank account number etc
KRA4 Statutory Compliances Renewal of employer License for deployment of CW
  • Issue form V to contractor for deployment
  • Communication with the contractor to ensure proper and desired skilled CW deployment
  • Interprets, implement and enforce company\xe2\x80\x99s policies in relation to contract workforce management.
KRA5 MIS & Budgeting Prepare MIS data pertaining to Contract Workforce deployment
  • Prepare Contract Labour Budget
KRA6 Salary & Wages Preparation & Distribution To Collect data\xe2\x80\x99s related to Salary & Wages preparation & manage the deductions.
  • To do reconciliations every month and provide input to accounts
  • To process the net payable Salary & Wages.
  • To sort out all kinds of queries regarding salary & Wages details in order to ensure total internal customer satisfaction
