A front office associate, also known as a front desk associate, performs administrative tasks at the front desk or reception of a hotel or other business:
• Greeting customers : Welcome customers and guests
• Managing reservations : Register guests, assign rooms, and manage reservations
• Handling inquiries : Respond to customer questions and provide information about rooms, rates, and amenities
• Maintaining records : Keep visitor records and hotel records up to date
• Collecting payments : Accept cash, credit cards, and other electronic payments
• Presenting bills : Present bills to customers and collect payment at check-out
• Ensuring satisfaction : Ensure guests are satisfied during their stay
• Problem-solving : Prioritize issues and tasks and address errors quickly
Front office associates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize. They should also be able to handle cash responsibly.
