Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers to understand their transportation needs and provide tailored solutions.
Carrier Sourcing and Management: Identify reliable carriers through extensive research, negotiate favorable rates, and maintain a database of trusted carriers for various shipping needs.
Rate Negotiation: Negotiate competitive rates with carriers while ensuring profitability for the brokerage firm.
Load Booking and Dispatching: Coordinate the booking and dispatching of shipments, ensuring accurate scheduling and timely delivery.
Freight Tracking and Monitoring: Track shipments in transit, provide real-time updates to customers, and proactively address any delays or issues that may arise.
Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all necessary documentation, including bills of lading and shipping manifests, are accurately prepared and filed in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Problem Resolution: Act as a point of contact for resolving any disputes, discrepancies, or issues that may occur during transportation, striving to find prompt and satisfactory solutions.
Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes affecting the transportation industry to make informed decisions and adapt strategies accordingly.
Sales and Business Development: Identify opportunities to expand the customer base, pitch brokerage services to potential clients, and contribute to the growth and profitability of the brokerage firm.
Financial Management: Manage financial transactions, including billing customers, processing carrier payments, and maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation management.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and carriers.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in relevant software applications, including transportation management systems (TMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
Solid understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze market data and make data-driven decisions.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to find solutions to complex logistical challenges.
