Job Title: Freelance TOEFL Counselor/Trainer

A Freelance TOEFL Counselor/Trainer is responsible for providing personalized guidance and training to students preparing for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The role involves assessing students' language skills, creating tailored study plans, and providing targeted instruction to help them achieve their desired TOEFL scores. As a freelancer, the counselor/trainer will work independently to deliver effective online training sessions, ensuring that students improve their listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• One-on-One Counseling: Offer personalized counseling sessions to students, understanding their goals and weaknesses in English proficiency, and guiding them through a customized TOEFL preparation plan.
• Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging lessons focused on all sections of the TOEFL exam (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing). Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs and learning styles.
• Practice Tests and Assessments: Administer mock TOEFL tests and assess students' progress. Provide detailed feedback and strategies for improvement.
• Study Material Preparation: Provide students with relevant study materials, including practice questions, reading materials, and writing prompts. Ensure that materials align with TOEFL exam formats and guidelines.
• Motivation and Support: Offer ongoing support and motivation to students, helping them stay on track with their study plans. Address any concerns or challenges they face during preparation.
• Progress Monitoring: Track students' progress and adjust teaching methods as needed to ensure continuous improvement. Provide constructive feedback after each session and mock test.
• Exam Strategies: Teach test-taking strategies for time management, answering techniques, and reducing test anxiety. Help students familiarize themselves with the TOEFL exam format.
• Communication and Availability: Be responsive to students' queries, offer flexible scheduling, and maintain a professional and supportive relationship with each student.

Qualifications:

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred.
• Certification: TOEFL-specific training or certification is a plus. Alternatively, a TEFL/TESOL certification is desirable.
• Experience: Previous experience in teaching TOEFL or similar English proficiency exams is preferred. Experience in online teaching is an advantage.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of the TOEFL exam format, question types, and scoring criteria.
• Strong command of English language skills (speaking, writing, reading, and listening).
• Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
