• Greeting and Seating Guests : Servers welcome guests as they arrive, assist them in finding suitable seating, and provide menus.
• Taking Orders : They accurately record guests' food and beverage orders, ensuring they are transmitted promptly to the kitchen or bar.
• Knowledge of Menu Items : Servers have a good understanding of the menu, including ingredients and preparation methods, and can make recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Serving Food and Drinks : They deliver orders to tables in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation meet the restaurant's standards.
• Customer Assistance : Responding to guests' inquiries about food and beverages, offering information about specials or promotions, and accommodating special requests (e.g., dietary restrictions).
• Upselling and Promotion : Servers may suggest additional items such as appetizers, desserts, or specialty drinks to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
• Handling Payments : Processing guests' payments, which may include handling cash, credit cards, or electronic payments, and providing accurate change or receipts.
• Table Maintenance : Keeping tables clean and tidy throughout guests' dining experience, resetting tables for the next customers.
• Team Collaboration : Working closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure efficient operation and smooth service flow.
• Adhering to Health and Safety Regulations : Following hygiene and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe dining environment for guests and staff.
• Handling Guest Concerns : Resolving any complaints or issues that arise during service promptly and professionally, seeking assistance from management when necessary.
• Shift Closing Duties : At the end of their shift, servers may be responsible for tasks such as restocking supplies, cleaning work areas, and preparing for the next day's service.
• Maintaining Professionalism : Upholding a positive attitude, neat appearance, and courteous demeanor at all times.
