Position Overview: The Food Technician is responsible for supporting the development, production, and quality control of food products. This role involves conducting experiments, analyzing ingredients, and ensuring that food products meet safety and quality standards. The Food Technician works closely with food scientists, quality assurance teams, and production staff to maintain high standards in the food manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Product Development and Testing:
• Assist in the development and testing of new food products and formulations.
• Conduct experiments and trials to evaluate the quality, taste, texture, and nutritional value of food products.
• Record and analyze data from tests and experiments to provide insights and recommendations.
• Quality Control:
• Monitor and test raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Conduct routine inspections and audits of production processes and facilities.
• Document and report any deviations from quality standards and assist in implementing corrective actions.
• Ingredient Analysis:
• Analyze and evaluate the chemical, physical, and microbiological properties of ingredients and food products.
• Ensure that all ingredients meet regulatory requirements and quality specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of ingredient analyses and test results.
• Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure that all food products comply with local, national, and international food safety regulations.
• Stay updated with changes in food safety laws and regulations and implement necessary changes in processes and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain documentation required for regulatory compliance.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for improving product quality, production efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to implement process improvements.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for food production and quality control.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Food Technician or in a similar role in the food industry.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality control principles, and laboratory techniques.
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software for data analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Working Conditions:
