• Develop, review, and update food safety documents, including but not limited to HACCP plans, food safety manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, risk assessments, and traceability records.
• Ensure all food safety documentation aligns with industry standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, FSMA, etc.), and internal company protocols.
• Ensure all documentation complies with local, national, and international food safety regulations, industry best practices, and certifications (e.g., ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRCGS).
• Conduct gap analyses to assess current documentation practices and recommend improvements to ensure continuous compliance.
• Organize, maintain, and track the version history of all food safety documentation.
• Create clear, accessible filing systems for the documentation to ensure proper records management.
• Assist in the development of training materials and provide guidance on interpreting food safety documentation.
• Support the food safety team in implementing the procedures outlined in the documentation, where applicable.
• Prepare documentation in support of food safety audits (internal or external), including assisting with pre-audit assessments and preparing relevant records.
• Provide recommendations for corrective actions based on audit findings related to documentation gaps.
