The Food & Beverage Service Attendant is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a pleasant dining experience for guests. This role involves taking orders, serving food and drinks, handling customer inquiries, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Customer Service:
• Greet and seat guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Present menus, provide detailed information on food and beverage items, and offer recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are accommodated.
• Serve food and drinks promptly and professionally.
• Check in with guests to ensure their satisfaction and address any issues or concerns.
• Handle customer complaints with empathy and efficiency, escalating to management when necessary.
• Order Management:
• Enter orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and correct order preparation.
• Monitor and manage table turnover, ensuring efficient service during peak times.
• Cleanliness and Organization:
• Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including clearing and resetting tables.
• Follow hygiene and safety standards, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Ensure that all service areas, including utensils and glassware, are clean and in good condition.
• Payment Processing:
• Present checks to guests, handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, and provide change when necessary.
• Process payments efficiently and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in training new staff members and provide support to colleagues as needed.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving service and operations.
• Inventory Management:
• Monitor stock levels of supplies and report shortages to the supervisor.
• Assist in the restocking of supplies and equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Previous experience in food and beverage service or a related field is advantageous.
• Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality service.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and processing payments.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry items up to [specific weight], and perform tasks that require bending and reaching.
