Key Responsibilities:
• Cleaning and Maintenance :
• Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment, floors, walls, and other surfaces.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the dining area, including wiping down tables, chairs, and floors.
• Regularly check, clean, and maintain the dishwashing area to ensure it is operating at full capacity.
• Ensure the correct handling, storage, and labeling of cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Equipment and Inventory Management :
• Assist in the inventory of food and beverage service items (china, glassware, flatware, etc.) and report any shortages or damage.
• Ensure that all F&B equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and stored correctly after use.
• Prepare and maintain stock of clean dishes, glassware, and silverware to ensure smooth operation during service.
• Waste Management :
• Dispose of waste (including food waste, paper, plastics) according to the company's waste disposal policies.
• Ensure that all bins and waste areas are kept clean and organized.
• Assist in recycling efforts, when applicable, and separate recyclable materials from waste.
• Assisting Service Operations :
• Assist servers and other F&B team members with the setup and clearing of tables.
• Prepare beverage service areas (e.g., coffee stations, bar setups, etc.) and ensure they are stocked and ready for service.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of dining areas, including the arrangement of tables, chairs, and linens.
• Maintain a smooth and efficient flow of service by ensuring that kitchen and front-of-house teams have the necessary supplies.
• Health and Safety Compliance :
• Follow all company hygiene policies and procedures, ensuring high standards of cleanliness in all areas.
• Ensure all dishwashing and sanitizing processes meet regulatory health and safety standards.
• Report any safety hazards (such as spills or broken equipment) to the supervisor promptly.
• Wear appropriate protective clothing such as gloves, aprons, and non-slip shoes to maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Team Collaboration and Communication :
• Collaborate with other F&B staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding any equipment malfunctions or cleaning issues.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues, supervisors, and management.
• Other Responsibilities :
• Assist in organizing food and beverage stock areas.
• Support other kitchen or service staff as needed, including running food to guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management or the supervisor.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Education : High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience :
• Previous experience in a food and beverage or hospitality environment is preferred, but not required.
• On-the-job training may be provided.
• Physical Requirements :
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 30-50 pounds) and stand for long periods.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and reach as necessary for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Skills :
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen and cleaning equipment.
Work Environment:
• The job will be performed primarily in kitchens, dining rooms, and dishwashing areas.
• The environment can be fast-paced, especially during busy meal periods.
• The steward may be exposed to hot, humid, and noisy conditions.
