Job Summary:The Floor Manager in a restaurant is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dining area to ensure a smooth and efficient service. This role includes managing staff, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, resolving any operational issues, and maintaining quality standards. The Floor Manager works closely with the kitchen, bar, and service staff to provide an excellent dining experience for guests. Key Responsibilities:Staff Supervision and Training:
Manage and supervise the front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bussers. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and customer service standards.Customer Service Excellence:
Ensure customers receive prompt, courteous, and professional service. Interact with guests to ensure their satisfaction, address any concerns or complaints, and handle special requests.Operational Efficiency:
Oversee the daily operations of the dining area, ensuring all tasks are carried out efficiently. This includes monitoring the flow of guests, ensuring orders are processed correctly, and maintaining smooth communication between the front and back of the house.Quality Control:
Ensure that food and drink are served to the highest quality and in accordance with the restaurant's standards. Check presentation, accuracy of orders, and timely delivery to customers.Shift Management and Scheduling:
Create staff schedules, ensuring that shifts are adequately staffed based on restaurant occupancy levels. Adjust schedules to accommodate special events or busy periods.Conflict Resolution:
Resolve customer complaints or concerns professionally and promptly. Address any staff conflicts or operational issues that arise on the floor.Inventory and Stock Control:
Monitor and manage the availability of essential supplies (e.g., napkins, cutlery, condiments) in the dining area. Report any shortages to the manager and ensure supplies are replenished as needed.Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness of the dining area. Make sure staff adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean environment.Sales and Upselling:
Encourage guests to try menu specials, upsell drinks, and desserts, and promote other revenue-generating opportunities within the restaurant.Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the kitchen staff, bartenders, and management to ensure efficient service, minimize delays, and resolve any operational issues. Maintain clear communication with all departments.Reporting and Administrative Duties:
