Job Title: Fitness Manager
Reports to: Club Manager
Key Responsibilities:
1) Staff Management:
• Train, and supervise fitness instructors, personal trainers, and support staff.
• Create staff schedules, assign duties, and monitor staff performance.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
2) Member Services:
• Foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for members.
• Address member inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
• Develop and implement programs to enhance member engagement and retention.
3) Facility Maintenance:
• Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the gym equipment, locker rooms, and common areas.
• Ensure equipment is in working order, and arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.
• Conduct daily equipment maintenance checks.
4) Sales and Marketing:
• Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones.
• Monitor membership sales and revenue targets, and implement sales strategies to achieve goals.
• Coordinate promotions, special events, and classes to boost membership and revenue.
• Give gym tours to potential members.
5) Budget Management:
• Prepare and manage the gym's budget, including revenue and expense forecasting.
• Monitor financial performance and make adjustments as necessary to meet budgetary goals.
• Control costs and seek opportunities for cost savings.
• Responsible for Personal Training (PT) revenue and renewals.
6) Forecasting and Analysis:
• Provide a weekly forecast of sales and key performance indicators.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
7) Social Media and Marketing Collaboration:
• Oversee the creation and handover of social media content to the marketing team.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media efforts with overall marketing strategies.
8) Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure that the gym complies with all relevant health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of member waivers, health assessments, and emergency procedures.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, including first-aid procedures and equipment.
9) Program Development:
• Plan and implement fitness programs and classes that cater to a diverse range of members.
• Stay updated on fitness industry trends and incorporate new ideas into the gym's offerings.
10) Communication and Customer Engagement:
• Conduct courtesy calls to members to gather feedback, address concerns, and enhance member experience.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Exercise Science, Sports Management) or equivalent experience.
• Certified Personal Trainer or relevant fitness certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in fitness management or a similar role.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in fitness equipment operation and fitness programming.
• Knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
