Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Project Manager to lead a team of 8-12 individuals with varying levels of experience, ranging from fresh graduates to seasoned professionals with 20+ years in the technical field. This position requires exceptional people management abilities, coupled with a deep understanding of firmware development in a distributed global project environment. The specific focus of this role is on managing projects within firmware domain, operating within a C++/Linux environment. Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of firmware projects within the Fax domain, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Team Management: Manage a diverse team of firmware engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to individuals with varying levels of experience. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources within the team to maximize productivity and ensure project milestones are met.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with firmware development projects and implement proactive measures to mitigate them effectively.
- Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of firmware solutions developed by the team.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve firmware development processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
- People Development: Develop and implement strategies for the professional growth and development of team members, including training programs, skills enhancement initiatives, and career progression opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and quality assurance specialists, to achieve project objectives and deliver high-quality firmware solutions.
- Global Project Management: Manage projects in a distributed global environment, coordinating activities across multiple geographical locations and time zones.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in firmware development, with hands-on experience in C++ programming and Linux environment. Having exposure to Fax or Networking domain would be an added advantage
- Previous experience (minimum 3 years) in a project management or leadership role, in the technology industry.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop team members of diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects in a distributed global environment, with experience coordinating activities across multiple locations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and drive resolution in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of firmware development best practices, industry standards, and quality assurance methodologies.
- Familiarity with Agile, SAFe or other iterative development methodologies is a plus.
