Overview

Synaptics is looking for a Firmware Engineer, Bluetooth to join our dynamic and growing organization. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a global team working to create revolutionary products. In this role, you will be working in the Core Bluetooth Software team responsible for BT/BLE driver design and development to productize cutting edge and best-in-class Synaptics IoT Bluetooth solutions. This position reports to the Manager, Software Engineering, Bluetooth.



Responsibilities & Competencies

Job Duties• Develop and integrate firmware for Bluetooth products
• System level debugging to fix Bluetooth controller issues
• Work closely with Systems, ASIC and QA teams for pre-tapeout qualification, silicon bring-up, low level hardware bring-up, software development in an RTOS environment, and device driver development





Competencies• Good understanding of Bluetooth technology up to core spec v5.4
• Strong programming in C, embedded C, debugging & troubleshooting of uC
• Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
• Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
• Resourceful and able to solve problems through practical use of technology
• Good verbal and written communication skills, in English
• Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse cross-functional team



Qualifications (Requirements)• Bachelor's degree in Computer-Science/Electronics Engineering or related field or equivalent
• 2+ years of relevant industry experience
• Solid hands-on experience in BT FW development
• Experience working with various communication and control protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, I2S
• Experience with BT/BLE Spec up to the 5.4 host and controller standard
• Experience with systems analysis, profiling and low-level debugging
• Hands on experience working with firmware/hardware.
• No travel required
