Job Overview:
1. Oversee the proper use and maintenance of all safety equipment, including personal protective gear, fall protection systems, and fire safety equipment.
2. Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition and replace or repair as necessary.
3. Coordinating or communicating with government authorities to obtain the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) related to fire safety.
4. Ensuring compliance with HSE and fire safety regulations, and organizing regular training sessions for staff, faculty, and students.
5. Develop and prepare comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) plans tailored to the activities performed by contractors.
6. Ensure that the plans address all potential risks and safety concerns specific to the project.
7. Monitor and ensure that contractors and subcontractors adhere to established safety requirements and standards.
8. Verify and evaluate their safety performance through regular audits and inspections.
9. Support the Emergency Response Team (ERT) in planning and executing emergency drills and simulations.
10. Ensure the team is well-prepared to handle various emergency scenarios effectively.
11. Oversee medical screening and job-specific training for erection crews, crane operators, and subcontractors involved in the installation process.
12. Ensure that all personnel are adequately trained and certified for their roles.
13. Ensure that the project complies with all relevant safety regulations, including those from the Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act and other industry standards.
14. Stay updated with current safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
15. Manage and oversee the installation and maintenance of smoke detectors and other fire safety systems throughout the project site.
16. Conduct regular fire safety inspections and ensure all systems are functioning properly.
