Job description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Safety/Security Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our residents, visitors, and staff. The Fire Safety/Security Officer will be responsible for implementing and enforcing fire safety and security protocols, conducting regular inspections, and responding to emergencies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Patrolling: Conduct regular patrols of the community premises to prevent and detect security breaches.

Access Control: Monitor and control access to the community, ensuring that only authorized personnel and residents enter the premises.

Incident Response: Respond promptly to security incidents, such as theft, vandalism, or disputes, and take necessary actions to resolve the situation.

CCTV Monitoring: Monitor CCTV cameras to identify potential security threats and take proactive measures to prevent incidents.

Resident Support: Provide assistance to residents, such as escorting them to their vehicles or residences, especially during nighttime hours.

Fire Safety Responsibilities:

Fire Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all fire safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and fire alarms, are properly maintained and functioning correctly.

Fire Drills and Training: Conduct regular fire drills and training sessions for residents and staff to ensure they are aware of emergency procedures.

Fire Risk Assessment: Conduct regular fire risk assessments to identify potential fire hazards and implement measures to mitigate them.

Emergency Response: Respond promptly to fire emergencies, evacuate residents, and coordinate with emergency services.

Administrative Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate records of security incidents, fire safety inspections, and training sessions.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and community policies related to security and fire safety.

Communication: Liaise with residents, staff, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and coordination.

Other Responsibilities:

First Aid: Provide basic first aid assistance in case of medical emergencies.

Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to residents, visitors, and staff.

Certifications and Qualifications: (Mandatory)

Bachelor's degree (Preferred)

Fire Safety Certification: National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Certified Fire Safety Specialist (CFSS) or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit to perform duties, including patrolling and responding to emergencies.

Vision: Must have good vision, including color vision, to detect and respond to security and fire safety incidents.

Working Conditions:

Shift Work: Must be available to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Emergency Response: Must be available to respond to emergencies, including fires and security incidents.
