Functional Description:

This is an opportunity to be part of the Credit and Fraud Risk Controllership (C&FRC) team. The individual will directly contribute to the successful implementation of various system enhancements, analytics and automated reports.

Purpose of the role:

As part of a world-class Controllership group, the C&FRC organization is responsible for managing end to end credit and fraud process from reserve adequacy assessment through to the external and regulatory reporting.

Additionally, the C&FRC processes underwent a significant change with the implementation of IFRS9 effective January 2018 and CECL effective January 2020. They will work closely with Controllership, Risk, Risk Finance, Technologies, and other groups responsible for day to day deliverables.

This role will support tech development of various features for credit reserving, disclosures and management report as Product Owner (PO). Of all the roles in the agile team, the product owner role is the most pivotal. The product owner holds the vision for the product, has a solid understanding of the users and the business problem being solved, and collaborates closely and regularly with the development team to deliver on that vision.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and communicate the vision, value and priorities of the product and collaborate closely and constantly with the development team on delivery of product features
  • Be the bridge between the delivery team, and the stakeholders
  • Understand the needs of the business and the user with respect to the product/features
  • Gather feature requests from other business stakeholders and manage and prioritize them into a single backlog
  • Define and refine user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Prepare and prioritize user stories for sprint planning and backlog refinement meetings
  • Actively participate in the sprint planning, backlog refinement and sprint review meetings
  • Attend daily stand-ups and answer questions and remove impediments
  • Review and accept stories when they have been fully delivered and meet the definition of done
  • Perform thorough validations of system changes and provide walk through to business team

Past Experience:

Experience with UAT validations, Project management, SQL data query

In addition to above, experience with credit reserves and portfolio analysis, financial modeling and accounting

Experience with financial reporting requirements and processes a plus

Academic Background:

2-4 years of strong techno-functional knowledge in SQL, Tableau, VBA, Macros

Degree in Engineering / Accounting / Finance

Functional Skills/Capabilities:

Strong process orientation and analytical problem-solving skills, demonstrated process improvement

Excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong collaboration and relationship skills

Technical Skills/Capabilities:

Knowledge of Agile, Rally, SQL, UAT testing

Awareness of relevant US GAAP/IFRS (Accounting knowledge) a plus

Analytical skills with the ability to undertake cause effect analysis

Knowledge of financial systems

Behavioral Skills/Capabilities:

Results driven, self-starter, able to lead and influence without direct authority

Ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands, and effectively manage in a matrix organization
