Purpose of the Job



The FC&A Financial Controller ensures the delivery and execution of the finance planning, actuals, closing and reporting activities for the assigned reporting units and reporting units of a smaller/larger (non)-complex team.

Your key responsibilities :


Operational:

• Lead and manage a local/(sub)regional team and related portfolio of entities to achieve business objectives. Responsible for performing the day-to-day people manager responsibilities (leave planning, preparation PDR discussions)
• Develop and mentor team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their growth and objectives are achieved. Ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting and analysis for the sub-region, and continuously improve processes to achieve top quartile performance.
• Oversee and execute finance actuals, closing, and reporting activities for assigned (non-) complex reporting unit(s) to ensure timely delivery and accuracy. Perform thorough sanity checks of the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement and coordinate variances analysis against actuals, including comparisons to prior periods.
• Ensure compliance with dsm-firmenich Accounting Rules, international, and local statutory accounting standards to maintain integrity of financial statements and management reports. Monitor the Balance Sheet, conduct financial variance analysis, and address open items to ensure financial stability and accuracy.
• Prepare business cases for capital expenditure, cost improvement or similar requirements.

Impact on strategy & contribution:

• implement financial control strategy for the sub-regional portfolio in collaboration with Leadership Team. Serve as a change agent and be a force for proposition and implementation to drive transformational initiatives, enhance financial processes, systems, and controls across the sub-region and region as a whole.

Innovation & complexity:

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in the FC&A (sub)regional team. Monitor financial performance and provide insights and recommendations to the Senior FC&A Director / Head of FC&A and other stakeholders. Collaborate closely with Financial Shared Services, FP&A, Business Units, and Centre's of Expertise (like tax and treasury) to ensure alignment and integration of financial activities across the (sub)region.

Teams / Breadth

• Leading a local team (1-10 direct reports), which acts within a larger subregional team, to achieve business objectives.

Financial metrics:

• Responsible for delivering and understanding the actual financial results and statements of financial position for entities (OWC, Revenue, GM, OPEX, EBITDA, APMs, and Net Income).

You bring.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting/ financial Controlling, and/or licensed certified public accountant. CA/CMA or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in Accounting/Controlling. In-depth understanding of Finance and Accounting processes.
• Extensive knowledge and proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP R3.
