Job Summary:


As the Financial Controller for our India office, you will be the key on-site finance leader, overseeing all financial activities for our India entities. You will be responsible for managing the financial operations, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting a small team of shared services finance staff. This role reports directly to the Finance Director and requires strong leadership skills, proactive financial management, and collaboration with Apollo operational and commercial teams.


We are seeking a talented Financial Controller (India) to join our team. The Financial Controller India) is responsible for the following:


Responsibilities:


Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):


• Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for India operations.
• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Analyze financial data, identify trends, and recommend actionable improvements.
• Monitor adherence to budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Act as a self-starter, driving financial improvements and efficiencies.


Financial Operations Management:


• Month-end close activities for two branches, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Manage cash flow and inventory reporting and ensure capex reporting accuracy.
• Prepare payment runs, chase in receivables and complete all balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and controls.


Tax Compliance and Statutory Reporting:


• Ensure full compliance with local direct and indirect tax regulations.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory accounts.
• Manage statutory audits and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and legal requirements.


Financial Collaboration and Leadership:


• Provide guidance and leadership to a small team of shared services finance staff.
• Build strong working relationships across functions and with non-financial teams.
• Present financial findings and insights into senior management, supporting informed decision-making.
• Communicate effectively in English, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Act as a key business partner, providing financial support to various departments.


Must Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or professional certification (ACCA/CIMA) is required.
• Proven experience in a financial controller role, particularly in India.
• Strong knowledge of local tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
• Highly numerate with advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent leadership and team management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
• Proficient in English, with outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with multinational organizations and understanding of foreign exchange challenges.
