Job Description

Job location- Uganda (East Africa) CA/ICWA with 8 to 12 yrs experience in Microfinance Bank. Accounting Operations Management: Supervise and manage all accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger (GL), Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. Streamline accounting processes and operations to enhance efficiency. Budgeting and Financial Forecasting: Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts. Analyze variances and provide timely reports to senior management. Financial Reporting: Prepare and publish accurate monthly financial statements. Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements. Internal Controls and Risk Management : Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance. Support the month-end and year-end close process. Maintain and strengthen internal controls. Tax Compliance: Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Process Documentation: Develop and document business processes and accounting policies Minimum Requirements: Proven working experience as a Financial Controller with at least 5 years of combined accounting and finance experience in microfinance industry. Advanced degree in Accounting. CA or CPA certification preferred. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
