The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders. For more information, please visit the website www.phfi.org.Project Brief:The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is a public-private initiative that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and international academia, state, and central governments, multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups. PHFI is a response to redress the limited institutional capacity in India for strengthening training, research, and policy development in Public Health. PHFI is implementing the capacity building (Norther & Central Region) and activities management for HIV component of the GFATM for the period April 2024-March 2027.Deliverables:The Finance Officer will play a vital role in managing financial resources, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting effective financial planning and reporting of the NACO capacity-building Project Samarthya (North Region).The key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, budget planning and management.

  • Financial reporting.
  • Ensuring financial compliance.
  • Preparing timely reports (monthly/quarterly/annual).
  • Supporting audits and internal controls.
  • Cash management.
  • Travel as required.
  • Any other work assigned by the Project Director and VP- Public Health Systems Support.
Qualification:Essential:
  • Graduate in Commerce / BBA/ MBA/ CA-Inter or related field.
Experience:Essential:
  • Around 5 years of experience in Central / State government programs as Finance / accounts officer, esp. HIV/AIDS.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of GFR and Government Accounting system
  • Working knowledge of CNA (Central Nodal Agency) model PFMS
