We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager - Agency Control Assurance to join our dynamic team at PIL. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of agents under the purview of Agency Network Management (ANM) within Group Commercial and Agency Management (GCAM). This role involves maintaining the accuracy of financial reports, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and implementing effective financial controls and procedures to mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Assurance - Reliability and Integrity of Financial Information:
• Address internal control deficiencies reported by the Internal Audit Department, driving agencies to prompt remediation and action plans to resolve deficiencies on a timely basis.
• Review agents' Monthly Management Reports (MMR) for accuracy and completeness.
• Review monthly balance sheet schedules, collaborate with agents to clear aged balances, and ensure balances are fully supported and clearing accounts are reconciled.
• Work with agents on the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Review draft audited financial statements.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
• Identify and assess risks or non-conformity issues related to financial processes, compliance, and operations.
• Develop and maintain the Country Risk Register to log all identified risks.
• Develop strategies to mitigate risks and improve control procedures.
Compliance:
• Ensure agents meet all statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues, and adhere to Group guidelines, policies, and SOPs.
• Draft and modify Group policies, supporting the rollout of new Group policies by providing training to agents on control procedures and policies.
Drive Efficiency / Process Improvement:
• Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the agency finance function, which may include streamlining financial processes, implementing automation tools, or adopting best practices to enhance productivity and accuracy.
• Develop standard accounting operational procedures to improve financial operations efficiency.
• Continuously evaluate the efficiency of controls and recommend improvements.
• Support country system enhancements and development.
Training and Communication:
• Communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in the performance evaluation of finance staff and conduct counselling sessions to identify skill development needs.
MUST HAVE:
• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accountancy, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a proven track record in financial management, auditing, and compliance.
Skills:
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to deep dive into data.
• Strong business acumen, with negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships.
• Proficiency in Oracle Fusion, MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Time management, stakeholder management, and change management skills.
