Finance Assistant - Receivables
( 8 months contract - start date 22 April)
Blis is looking for a detail oriented candidate to join our team as Finance Assistant - Receivables based in Mumbai working for our European and US subsidiaries. This role is critical for the timely collection of payments, optimizing cash flow, and maintaining the financial health of the company. This role will be directly reporting to the Manager - Receivables and MIS and working closely with the global team to ensure accurate and timely processing of customer payments
Afternoon Shift
: 1 pm -9 pm IST (Mon -Fri) Location - Mumbai (Jogeshwari)
Key Responsibilities

  • Generating Invoices and Account Statements: This involves creating and issuing invoices to customers for products or services provided by the company. It also includes preparing detailed account statements that provide a summary of all transactions and outstanding balances for each customer.
  • Preparation of MIS Statements: Management Information System (MIS) statements are comprehensive reports that provide insights into the company\'s financial performance. In this role, you would be responsible for preparing these statements, which could include data related to receivables, outstanding balances, and collection trends.
  • Performing Customer Account Reconciliations: Regularly comparing and reconciling customer accounts with the company\'s records to ensure accuracy. Any discrepancies or issues are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Producing Monthly Financial and Management Reports: Creating reports on a monthly basis that outline the company\'s receivables status, including aging of accounts, collection progress, and other relevant financial and management insights.
  • Making Outbound Collection Calls: Communicating with customers to follow up on overdue payments in a professional manner. The goal is to ensure timely collection while maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Resolving Client-Billing Problems: Addressing and resolving any billing issues or disputes raised by customers promptly and effectively. Excellent customer service skills are essential in handling these situations.
  • Liaising with Ops and Customer Service Teams: Collaborating with operational and customer service teams to address matters related to revenue and customer accounts. This coordination ensures a cohesive approach to managing receivables.
  • Coordinating with Sellers: Working with external sellers to manage invoicing and collections, as well as addressing any queries they may have regarding payments.
  • Collecting Customer Payments: Managing the process of receiving and processing customer payments, ensuring accurate application to outstanding invoices.
  • Identifying Account Delinquency Issues: Monitoring accounts for signs of delinquency and reporting these issues to management. This proactive approach helps mitigate potential collection challenges.
  • Sending Payment Reminders: Mailing correspondence to customers to encourage timely payment of delinquent accounts. This involves sending reminders and notifications about overdue balances.
  • Facilitating Legal Proceedings: In cases of severe delinquency, coordinating and facilitating legal proceedings as required, following proper discussion and approval from management.
  • Preparing Commission Statements and Accruals: Generating commission statements on a quarterly basis and calculating accruals for rebates and trading deals. This involves detailed financial calculations and reporting.
  • Supporting Vendor Registration: Assisting with the registration of new vendors (Customers and Sellers) from a financial and accounting perspective.
  • Additional Finance and Accounting Tasks: Undertaking any other finance and accounting tasks assigned by management as needed.

Skills and requirements
  • M.Com, B.Com, MBA in Finance, CA Inter, or ICWA Inter with strong accounting knowledge
  • Passionate about work and highly organized with a focus on delivering work within deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to handle customer interactions.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience with collections and dispute resolutions
  • Excellent excel and writing skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics Business Central advantageous
  • Experience in media advantageous
