Role Summary / Purpose:

A Field Service Engineer should travel to our customer locations in India and abroad to perform service supervision, installation, replacement of required spares on-site and provide technical (mechanical) support for Air Preheaters and its components., This position is responsible in meeting 24x7 technical service needs of GEECO customers world wide. Focus on providing valued services and solutions to customers.

Duties and Responsibilities of Service Engineer:

• Willing to travel frequently, depending upon customer and company's business requirement.
• Provide high level technical support during repair, Service and/or on-site installation, validation and commissioning of Air Preheaters and its components at customers locations and to ensure whether all safety standards are met and integrity of the equipment is maintained.
• Develop service technical documentation
• Should be responsible for handling field service, market development and maintenance of APH.
• Ensure that safe work practices are being followed, reporting all safety incidents and near misses on a timely basis and maintaining the goal of "zero" lost time incidents.
• Work to improve the responsiveness to customers by being available to make sales calls, perform technical walk downs and provide technical solutions to customers that distinguishes GEECO's proposals and capabilities.
• Prompt & Professional handling of field service calls and issues arising from the field service visits , triage with field application scientists as appropriate.
• Coordinate with Engineering department to evaluate and design package offerings.
• Complete required reports, including Service Reports, Customer Call Reports, Expense Reports and Time Sheets on a timely basis in order to provide appropriate follow-up to customers including accurate invoicing for services.
• Suggest improvements to processes and procedures in order to improve customer response time and accuracy of all data.
• Communicate with the customers to ensure satisfaction and implement any necessary corrective actions
• Build positive relationship with customers
• Comply with Department Guidelines and Procedures in order to maintain appropriate standards of service provided to customers.
• Maintain close working relationships with customers in order to understand the competitive marketplace and suggest plans / programs to leverage that knowledge to offer not only additional or improved services, but also additional products for the benefit of customers and GEECO.
• Support in-house manufacturing, when needed, by being available to supplement existing personnel to meet customer needs during peak periods.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Experience : 0 -5 Yrs /Field Service experience/Power plant Experience/ Production
• Education Qualification : Minimum of Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Technical Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Physical sciences. Masters or higher level education is preferred.
• Industrial Type : Energy / Power Plant / Manufacturing / Production / Machinery
• Function Area : Field Engineering Services

Skills Required:

• Fluency in English, Tamil & Hindi is preferred
• Ability to maintain / organize information accurately in company database
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Good computer skills
• Good social and interpersonal skills
• Ability to study engineering drawing
• Mechanical maintenance, Machining, Motor Alignment and Components Assembly knowledge.
• 0 - 3 years of relevant technical expertise including millwright, maintenance, engineering, field service experience, product design and/or rotating equipment.
• A solid understanding of the product/service offerings and customer base.
• Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with customers & employees.
• Proficiency of working in Ms - Office. Comfortable navigating the Internet.
• Experience in servicing highly engineered equipment and products.
• Working knowledge and ability to test and troubleshoot technical problems.
• Prior experience of working in APH.
