Eligibility and Qualification
• A Master's degree in wildlife biology, forestry, environmental science, or a related field is required.
• Preference will be given to candidates from Manipur and Nagaland.
• Strong understanding of key trends in wildlife conservation policies and issues related to the trade in wild animals and plants is essential.
• Dissertation or project work focusing on wildlife crime control initiatives will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with wildlife laws, regulations, and international treaties is necessary.
• Proficiency in data compilation and analysis using Excel and GIS software is required, with experience in statistical analysis being highly beneficial.
• Demonstrated ability to write scholarly articles is a desirable qualification.
• Excellent field skills, including tracking, surveillance, and evidence gathering, are critical.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse audiences are mandatory.
• Physical fitness to work in challenging field conditions is required.
• Knowledge of local languages and cultural context is a significant advantage.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be prepared to travel extensively.
Key Responsibilities :
• Conduct field surveys and covert operations to gather critical data on illegal hunting and trading of pangolins through field sources
• Coordinate with local sources, communities, and law enforcement agencies to obtain and verify intelligence.
• Document evidence, including photographs, GPS coordinates, and species details.
• Support the execution of anti-poaching and anti-trafficking operations along with state forest and border security agencies
• Garner collaboration from local communities, local governmental and non-governmental bodies in stopping the illegal hunting and trade of Pangolins within their ambit
• Assist in any wildlife crime prevention initiatives as per the discretion of Head, PI or CEO.
Project Planning & Management:
• Analyze field data to identify patterns and trends in pangolin trafficking.
• Produce detailed intelligence reports to assist enforcement operations, after vetting from Division Head
Fund & Financial Management :
• Ensure adherence to organization financial statutory guidelines in the area of work
Donor's Co-ordination :
• Assist the project team with ground information to prepare detailed donor reports
External Communication / Co-ordination:
• In assistance with Division Head and team, assist in the successful organizing of project local events and training
MIS & Reports :
• Prepare reports for stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, and conservation partners
• Responsible for sending half yearly report to HoD/ HQ on the status of all assets/stocks/ publications etc.
• Responsible for all field reports, photographic documentation, submission of data sheets etc as per the requirements and said deadlines

Any other responsibilities :
• Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the field station
• Also responsible for the establishment, maintenance of the respective field camp, if any, that falls under the field station
• Ensure scientific or technical adherence to all needs of the project is met
• Draft and publish the findings of the project in scientific journals
• Present the findings of the project in national and international fora
• Responsible for all field level governmental and partner liaison at appropriate levels and local public relation needs in consultation with the Head
• Responsible for acting as the on-site representative of WTI (at particular level) and to ensure that the image of WTI as a conservation action organization operating in the field is maintained at all times
• Ensure other project or organisation activities in the state of base are executed.
