: Fiber Technician

Position: Fiber Technician
Location: Thiruvalla, Kerala
Experience: 2-3 years
Commitment: 3-5 years

We are looking for a skilled and committed Fiber Technician to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in fiber splicing, cable laying, and the installation of set-top boxes. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity and performance of our fiber network, which directly impacts the quality of service we provide to our customers. Key Responsibilities:

• Fiber Splicing: Perform fiber optic splicing to join cables, ensuring low signal loss and high network performance.
• Cable Laying: Install and maintain underground and aerial fiber optic cables, following industry best practices to ensure durability and reliability.
• Set-Top Box Installation: Install, configure, and troubleshoot set-top boxes for broadband services, ensuring proper functionality and customer satisfaction.
• Network Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of fiber optic cables and connections to prevent network disruptions.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to fiber optic cables, splicing, and set-top boxes, minimizing downtime for customers.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of fiber installations, splicing activities, and network configurations.
• Customer Support: Provide on-site support to customers, ensuring that installations meet their expectations and resolving any technical issues.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols during fiber installation and maintenance, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to coordinate installations and repairs, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest fiber optic technologies, tools, and industry trends to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in fiber optics preferred.
• Proven experience as a fiber technician or in a similar role (2-3 years). Any experience is good experience.
• Proficiency in fiber splicing, cable laying, and set-top box installation.
• Strong knowledge of cable and broadband cable installation, modem configuration, and fiber splicing.
• Ability to drive two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles.
• Familiarity with tools and equipment used in fiber optic installation and maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive and positive attitude with a commitment to learning and growing within the company.

Pay: ?240,000.00 - ?420,000.00 per year
