A food and beverage (F&B) steward, also known as a waiter or waitress, has many responsibilities, including:
• Customer service : Greeting guests, seating them, and taking their orders
• Table service : Setting and clearing tables, stocking them with essentials, and presenting menus to customers
• Food and beverage service : Serving food and beverages, and refilling glasses
• Cleaning : Cleaning and sanitizing the dining and kitchen areas, washing dishes, and sweeping and mopping
• Supporting staff : Assisting the server and kitchen staff, and stocking their serving stations
• Transitioning dining rooms : Changing the setting of dining rooms based on the needs of the guests
• Account settlement : Settling customer accounts according to company policy
F&B stewards should have strong communication and organizational skills, and be able to work well under pressure. They should also be friendly, polite, and courteous, and have strong customer service and team working skills.
