With a reputation for elegance, opulence, and intricate detailing, Sabyasachi is recognized globally as a leading force in luxury fashion, particularly bridal couture and haute couture.Role Overview: As a Fashion Designer at Sabyasachi, you will be an integral part of the design team, contributing to the creation of innovative and timeless collections that align with the brand's ethos. You will collaborate with senior designers, artisans, and other departments to translate the brandxe2x80x99s vision into exquisite pieces that push boundaries while honoring traditional craftsmanship.Key Responsibilities:Design Conceptualization and Development:Research and stay updated with global fashion trends, textiles, and emerging techniques.
Conceptualize new collections based on the brand's design philosophy, customer preferences, and seasonal trends.
Create detailed sketches and technical specifications for new garments, ensuring they meet the quality standards of the Sabyasachi brand.
Collaboration:Work closely with the creative director, senior designers, and production teams to bring design ideas to life.
Collaborate with embroidery artists, fabric specialists, and tailors to ensure the highest quality in garment construction and finishing.
Fabric and Material Selection:Source and select luxurious fabrics, embellishments, and trims that align with the design vision and brand identity.
Ensure a high standard of fabric sourcing, including managing relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Collection Execution:Oversee the development of prototypes and samples for new designs, ensuring they align with the creative concept.
Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are executed accurately and efficiently.
Manage the fit and alterations process for each garment to ensure the final product meets the required standards.
Brand Representation:Represent the Sabyasachi brand at various fashion events, photo shoots, and client meetings.
Understand the brandxe2x80x99s aesthetic and consistently maintain and reinforce its identity through all designs and collections.
Innovation & Trend Setting:Continuously push the envelope with innovative design techniques and reimagining traditional fashion forms.
Develop unique embroidery patterns, textile designs, and fabric treatments that distinguish the Sabyasachi brand from competitors.
Qualifications:Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.Strong portfolio showcasing previous design work (include sketches, finished garments, and any press or media coverage).
Expertise in traditional Indian textile techniques, including hand embroidery, weaving, and printing.
Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) and other tools.
Knowledge of fabric composition, draping, garment construction, and pattern making.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
