The Farm Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the farm's daily operations, including crop cultivation, livestock management, equipment maintenance, and staff supervision. The Farm Manager aims to maximize the farm's productivity and profitability while adhering to sustainable farming practices and ensuring the health and safety of all workers.Key Responsibilities1. Planning and Management Develop and implement farming plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate planting, cultivating, and harvesting activities for crops. Oversee the breeding, feeding, and care of livestock. Ensure compliance with agricultural policies, environmental regulations,and safety standards.2. Financial Oversight Monitor and manage the farm's budget and financial performance. Prepare financial reports and maintain accurate records of expenses andrevenues. Make decisions on purchasing supplies, equipment, and services.3. Staff Supervision Hire, train, and supervise farm workers and staff. Assign tasks and monitor work performance to ensure efficiency andproductivity. Promote a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing safetyprotocols and conducting regular training.4. Crop and Livestock Management Implement best practices for soil health, pest control, and crop rotation. Monitor crop growth and manage irrigation, fertilization, and pest control. Manage livestock health and welfare, including veterinary care, breedingprograms, and feed management.5. Maintenance and Equipment Management Oversee the maintenance and repair of farm buildings, fences, andequipment. Ensure all machinery and equipment are operated safely and efficiently. Keep up-to-date with technological advancements and incorporate newfarming techniques and tools.6. Record Keeping and Reporting Maintain detailed records of crop yields, livestock production, and farmactivities. Prepare reports on farm operations, productivity, and financialperformance. Use farm management software to track data and analyze performance.Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Horticulture, AnimalScience, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: Several years of experience in farming, with progressiveresponsibilities in management roles.Skills: Strong knowledge of farming practices and techniques. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in farm management software and technology. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial management.
