The incumbent is responsible for managing the end-to-end operations of the factory. This includes materials planning, machine loading schedules, plant maintenance, and importantly supervising manufacturing operations.
Ensuring high quality of manufacturing as per quality standards of the company is an inherent expectation of the job.
Work involves working closely with the design teams, generating manufacturing drawings as per product design and accordingly planning production.
This will automatically involve materials planning and processing, within the wastage tolerances as per standards.
An important part of the job is to deliver high quality finishes, like polishes / paint / decorative laminates, specialized decorative finishes.
Proper component packing, accounting of materials, tools, tackles and organizing the required manpower, safe transportation to the site and satisfactory site installation are all a part of the job.
The incumbent must be able to plan the indenting of materials required for the factory and manage the inventory effectively.
It is expected that the Factory Head will be a hands-on People Manager and will take care of all aspects related to factory personnel. This includes hiring, staffing, training, team building, employee welfare, rewards and recognition, performance appraisal.
The candidate shall ensure complete adoption of the companies policies and procedures as well as compliance with all statutory rules and regulations.
Safety, Health and Environment is a key area, that the factory manager shall always ensure compliance with.
It is important that the factory head delivers all the KPIs of the factory, set from time to time.
The factory manager shall interact with and maintain the required liaison with the concerned local authorities.
He shall also have a keen eye on cost control and savings where possible and always strive to operate within the allocated budgets.
The FM shall adhere to the escalation matrix recommended on any matters that require the attention of the senior management.
RequirementsQualification & Experience:
Graduate Engineer in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a Diploma holder
15+ Years of experience in running large scale factory operations, preferably a highly automated joinery.
Experience in manufacturing high end interior design products is a must.
Must have hands on experience in manufacturing planning, maintenance, machine loading, manpower planning.
A good understanding of auxiliary systems like air, water, dust handling systems, paint booths, power distribution is important.
Incumbent must also be very familiar with all the statutory requirements of a factory set up.
Must be able to handle workmen and managers at all levels.
Additional experience in supply chain management is desirable
