1. Arranges to get the raw, pickle or wet blue leather received, unloaded, inspected and documented as stock (GRN & Mother Route Card) 2. Classifies storable and perishable leather 3. Arranges plan a schedule to convert perishable raw hides and skins, pickles to wet blue at the earliest as per process finalized by Technical Head and approved by Director through processing in the tanneries 4. In case there is capacity constraints in the tanneries, reports extended time for conversion and arranges to get the same processed through alternative tanneries under approval of directors 5. Arranges classification and gradation of the wet blue, updates the documentation data and keeps leather ready for further processing as per works orders released from time to time by the head office 6. Arranges and manages the inventory of all lots of wet blue by clear marking on skins piled on palettes with RC no/ grades/ quantity and logs the location by zoning method 7. Ensures stacking to avoid exposure to sun, ensures leather is moist and kept in a flat position at all times to avoid creases 8. Keeps receipts and issues documented on real time basis and reports inventory levels periodically 9. Reports periodically for alternative use of dead stock of unusable hide and skins through special orders or alternate disposal 10. Understands works order specifications and translates the same to the leather production plan to ensure timely supply of appropriate quality of leather towards meeting delivery deadlines Tracks status of all works orders and ensures timely production as per deadlines 11. Facilated the generation of prepares timely indent for wet blue issue under discussion with Director and Technical Head and allocates specific grades of wet blue, for production of finished leather as per specifications of the works order ensuring adequate quantity of appropriate quality of material is issued to the tanneries for processing as per relative competencies of the two tanneries and their ability to match the specification of that order.Ensures prompt response to internal customers from self and team at all times to ensure that operation is never delayed on account of delayed issue of leather. 12. Ensures that person responsible for chemical procurement requisitions appropriate quality and quantity of chemicals after consultation with the Technical Head 13. Ensures issue of wet blue and chemicals through route cards as per quantity of order for subsequent processing 14. Facilitates production through its various stages until dispatch by monitoring the movement of route cards under each indent ensuring parameter checking 15. Ensures closure of all Route Cards timely by way of dispatch D/C or transfer to quarantine or dead stock. 16. Resolves bottle necks with respect to mechanical, chemical or labour problems that arise during day to day operations 17. Ensures that each stage of production achieves the required standards and specification, enabling quality control at each critical stage 18. Ensures segregation of leather, that do not meet standards, at the stage of wet blue and dyed crust to minimize loss 19. Obtains and acts on feedback from the cutting units in factories and takes corrective action by making necessary repair of lots and adjustments in production processes in consultation with technical head 20. Facilitates Weekly meeting of quality control personnel of the tannery and he factories for seamless exchange of views and timely action 21. Ensures timely and accurate labour payments 22. Ensures that the own tannery premises and all equipment are maintained by the maintenance team through a structured maintenance schedule to prevent breakdown and downtime 23. Ensures that all statutory compliances are adhered to and all licences are renewed 24. Ensures all standard operating processes and quality norms for purchase of leather is maintained at all times. 25. To ensure that MIS related to WIP weekly & monthly staff payments, grads report of wet \xe2\x80\x93 blue, D/C & finish leather as format & other reports necessary to facilitated working efficiently & informed decisions. 26. Ensures regularity, punctuality and discipline of team members. 27. Ensures motivation of team members through continuous engagement at the shop floor as well as periodic employee engagement events. Reviews and monitors performance of team members. Enables training and development of team members 28. Takes responsibility for successful social audits of tannery and monitors to keep them in a compliant state at all times 29. Takes ownership of managing the environment of the tanneries to keep the localities, in which the tanneries operate, favourably disposed to the Organisation and keeps the factories protected from all external influences 30.
