Facility Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Bhubaneswar, Odisha

Reports to: Facilities Manager

Job Summary:

As the Facility Maintenance Supervisor at Srusti Academy of Management, you will oversee and manage the maintenance operations of the institution's facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep, safety, and functionality of all physical assets, including buildings, grounds, equipment, and utilities. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate maintenance activities effectively to support the smooth operation of the campus.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure efficient operation and preservation of facilities.

Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of maintenance staff, including technicians, electricians, plumbers, and janitorial personnel.

Routine Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs, safety hazards, and cleanliness standards.

Repairs and Troubleshooting: Coordinate and perform repairs and maintenance tasks as required, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and building structures.

Vendor Management: Liaise with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, renovations, and installations.

Budget Management: Monitor and control the maintenance budget. Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate contracts for services and supplies.

Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Implement and enforce safety protocols for maintenance activities.

Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations (e.g., power outages, floods) and take appropriate action to minimize disruption and damage.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment manuals, warranties, and service contracts.

Training and Development: Train and develop maintenance staff on procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.

Proven experience in facility maintenance management, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.

Strong technical knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.

Leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Good communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with staff, students, and external contractors.

Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.

Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and MS Office.
