Responsibilities:Assist in mechanical system maintenance and repairs:
Support the facility management team in conducting routine maintenance on mechanical systems, including but not limited to HVAC, air compressors, boilers, chillers, and ventilation systems.
Collaborate with experienced technicians to troubleshoot issues, diagnose problems, and carry out necessary repairs or replacements to maintain optimal operations.
Conduct preventive maintenance:
Assist in implementing and following preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical systems to ensure their optimal performance and longevity.
Perform regular inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of mechanical equipment and components according to maintenance plans and industry standards.
Assist in equipment calibration and optimization:
Participate in equipment calibration procedures to ensure accurate operation of mechanical systems, such as HVAC controls and environmental monitoring systems.
Collaborate with experienced technicians to optimize mechanical system settings for energy efficiency and adherence to industry regulations.
Support mechanical projects and installations:
Assist the facility management team in planning and executing mechanical system projects, such as equipment upgrades or installations.
Provide assistance in project coordination, including researching and sourcing materials, assisting with procurement processes, and collaborating with contractors or vendors.
Ensure compliance and safety:
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements while working on mechanical systems to promote a safe working environment.
Stay updated with mechanical codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and contribute to maintaining lab standards.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree or certification in mechanical engineering, HVAC, or a related field.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems commonly used in facilities, such as HVAC, air compressors, boilers, chillers, and ventilation systems.
Familiarity with maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for mechanical equipment.
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical stamina to handle mechanical tasks that may involve lifting, bending, or working in confined spaces.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes in the facility management industry.
